When Innovation Meets a Long-lasting Legacy
General Binding Corporation (GBC), an industry leader in the binding, laminating and paper handling equipment arena, was founded more than half a century ago. In order to keep their legacy alive, GBC needed to reinvent its existing product line, and they entrusted CRE8 with this vital project.
An innovative, consistent design language was infused into the Spire series based on essential messaging bullet points and important marketplace differentiators: integrated framing, all-steel construction, coherent color usage, and highly finished logo embellishment. The design elements reflect these attributes and create a new yet iconic look that sets the standard for machinery in this industry.
Based on a user-centered design approach, a new, enhanced structure and optional custom configurations ensure a high-productivity solution and a safe laminating process for operators of any skill level. An intuitive, accessible control panel, visible from all sides of the machine, enables fast and easy adjustments.
The Spire series stands out not only because of the above mentioned points, but also due to its cost-effective construction. When CRE8’s team initiated the design strategy for this product line, the product’s manufacturing was fully considered. All parts and units were cleverly designed for easy manufacture, allowing for a simplified production process and higher product quality at a fraction of its former cost.
This sleek and durable design promises reliability and high performance and sets a new standard in a dynamic marketplace.
